Schedule: Day 1

9:30 PM: Arrive into Beijing on United Airlines Flight 837.

You will be met at the airport by your guides and taken by bus to the Great Wall Sheraton Hotel.
Once at the hotel, the group will need to check in. That will be all for the first day.

Summary: No meals provided; buses will be available from 9:30 PM until arrival at the hotel.

Schedule: Day 2

7:00 AM – 8:00 AM: Breakfast at the hotel.

8:00 AM: Guides and buses will be waiting at the front of the hotel.

9:00 AM – 11:00 AM: One bus will go to Ming Sheng Bank for a business meeting; Ming Sheng will provide lunch for 40 people. One bus will go to Price Waterhouse for a business meeting; AIH will provide lunch for 40 people after the meeting.

2:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Both buses will go to a business meeting at the Capital Mansion in Beijing. Both buses will return to the hotel after the meetings.

7:00 PM – 9:00 PM: A dinner reception will be held at the Great Wall Sheraton Hotel. A speaker will present a presentation during the first hour (soft drinks will be served at the back). A buffet meal will be served during the second hour.

Table seating will be provided for the entire event. A head table and a “Columbia Business School” banner will be provided, along with two microphones. There will be 12 guests.

Summary: 3 meals are provided; buses will be available from 8 AM until 5 PM.

Schedule: Day 3

7:00 AM – 8:00 AM: Breakfast at the hotel.

8:00 AM: The guides and buses will be waiting at the front of the hotel.

9:00 AM – 12:00 PM: One bus will go to Motorola for a business meeting. Motorola is located outside of Beijing, over 200 km away.

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: The other bus will go to a business meeting at Sino Chem in Beijing.

Lunch will be provided by AIH.

1:00 – 6:00 PM: Both buses will tour the Forbidden City in the afternoon; they will tour separately.

6:30 PM – 8:00 PM: AIH will provide dinner in Beijing.

10:00 PM: After dinner, participants are on their own until 10:00 PM, at which time the buses will depart and return to the hotel.

Schedule: Day 4

7:30 AM – 8:00 AM: Each traveler should place his/her luggage in the hall for the porters.

8:00 AM – 9:30 AM: Breakfast at the hotel and hotel checkout.

9:30 AM: Guides and buses will be waiting outside the hotel.

10:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Both buses will visit the Great Wall.

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM: After visiting the Great Wall, AIH will provide lunch.

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Sightseeing at the Ming Tombs.

3:00 – 5:00 PM: Time for shopping.

5:00 – 6:00 PM: AIH will provide dinner.

6:00 PM: After dinner, participants will catch China Eastern Flight MU 5104, departing Beijing at 8:20 PM and arriving into Shanghai at 10:10 PM. (This flight was recently changed at the request of the group. A group representative will pay the departure tax for the entire group, using funds provided by AIH.)

10:00 PM: The group will be met at the airport in Shanghai and taken to their hotel.

Summary: 3 meals are provided; buses will be available from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM in Beijing and from 10:00 PM until arrival at the hotel in Shanghai. The sightseeing tours of the Great Wall and Ming Tombs are also provided.

Schedule: Day 5

7:00 AM – 7:30 AM: Breakfast at the hotel.

7:30 AM: The guides and buses will be waiting at the front of the hotel.

9:00 AM – 12:00 PM: The group will visit Volkswagen for a business meeting.

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: AIH will provide lunch.

2:00 PM – 4:00 PM: After lunch, the group will be dropped off for business meetings, via three buses: Liz Claiborne (20); Mary Kay (40); Shindler Elevator (20). Buses will return to the hotel by 5 PM.

7:00 PM: AIH will provide dinner. A speaker will give a presentation (a podium and microphone will be provided). There will be five guests.

Summary: 3 meals are provided; buses will be available from 8:00 AM until 10:00 PM.

Schedule: Day 6

7:00 AM – 7:30 AM: Place luggage outside room doors for porters.

7:30 AM – 9:00 AM: Breakfast at the hotel followed by checkout.

9:00 AM: The guides and buses will be waiting at the front of the hotel.

9:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Both buses will visit the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

10:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Tour of Shanghai, according to the suggestions of a group representative and Patty Xu.

12:30 PM – 1:30 PM: AIH will provide lunch.

3:40 PM: The group will take China Eastern Flight MU 509 departing Shanghai at 3:40 PM and arriving in Hong Kong at 5:50 PM. A group representative will pay the departure tax for the entire group from funds provided by AIH

Hong Kong

7:00 PM: The group will be met at the airport in Hong Kong and taken to their hotel.

7:45 PM: Check-in at the hotel.

8:30 – 10:45 PM: AIH will provide dinner.

Summary: 3 meals are provided; buses will be available from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM in Shanghai, and from 5:30 PM until the end of dinner in Hong Kong. The sightseeing tour of Shanghai is also provided.

Schedule: Day 7

10:00 AM: The guides and buses will be waiting at the front of the hotel.

10:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Harbor Cruise in Hong Kong.

12:30 PM – 2:00 PM: AIH will provide lunch after the cruise.

2:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Sightseeing tour of Hong Kong.

5:30 PM: Return to the hotel.

Summary: 1 meal is provided; buses will be available from 10:00 AM until 5:30 PM. The Harbor Cruise and sightseeing are also provided.

Schedule: Day 8

6:00 PM: The guides and buses will be waiting at the front of the hotel.

6:30 PM – 9:00 PM: Dinner and reception provided by Mrs. Sophie Leung.

Summary: Buses will be available from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM.

Schedule: Day 9

7:00 AM – 8:00 AM: Breakfast at the hotel.

8:40 AM: The guides and buses will be waiting at the front of the hotel. The group will walk to the Hong Kong Convention Center.

9:00 AM – 11:00 AM: The group will meet with Coopers and Lybrand at the Hong Kong Convention Center. Coopers and Lybrand will provide the room.

11:30 AM: Assemble in the Lobby of the Grand Hyatt and walk to lunch.

11:45 AM – 1:30 PM: The group will host a lunch and reception for the San Miguel Brewery at the New World Harbour View Hotel. A speaker from the brewery will deliver a presentation (a podium, microphone, overhead projector and screen will be provided). There will be 2 guests from San Miguel at the luncheon. Western food will be served.

1:45 PM: After lunch, San Miguel Brewery will bus the group to the brewery and then back to the hotel.

5:00 PM: Return to the hotel.

7:00 PM – 9:00 PM: AIH will provide a Gala Farewell Dinner at The Marriot Hotel.

9:30 PM: Return to the hotel.

Summary: 3 meals are provided; buses will be available from 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM and for the Gala Dinner at the Marriot from 6:30 PM until 9:30 PM. AIH will provide the reception room for the morning meetings and the San Miguel luncheon.

Schedule: Day 10

5:30 AM until 6:00 AM: Luggage should be placed outside room doors for porters.

6:00 AM until 7:00 AM: Breakfast at the hotel.

7:00 AM until 7:30 AM: Hotel checkout.

7:30 AM: Departure for the airport. The guides and buses will be waiting at the front of the hotel.

10:00 AM: The group departs Hong Kong for JFK on United Airlines Flight UA 800.

A group representative will pay the departure tax for the entire group from funds provided by AIH.

Summary: Breakfast is provided; buses will be available from 7:30 AM until 10:00 AM.

Please note that all meals except for the reception meal on March 3rd include only tea and water, and that any other drinks must be paid for on the spot by the individuals who order them.
